Where does the
information in a tenant check report come from?
The data in tenant credit
check reports is credit agency data which in turn
comes from a
variety of sources such as financial institutions, credit card companies, utility companies, and other lenders. This
data shows how quickly a person settles their account and may also show the maximum
credit limits they have been granted as well as any overdue or defaulted payments. The credit
agency may also get information from public records such as the Voters Roll, county
court judgements, and insolvency and bankruptcy records.
Who uses this
information?
The records held by the credit agencies are used by many lenders
when a person asks for credit or a loan with them. The lenders can look at
the information that has been provided by the person applying for the loan, and use
this along with the data provided from the credit agency. Lenders that may use credit reference
agency files include banks and building societies when considering finance loans
or mortgages, and by other companies and shops that offer credit facilities. |
